the lady at Kroger

I have been saved for 10 years. For someone who has been saved for 10 years you would think I have this thing down by now. Newsflash: I don’t. Some days I wake up and say to the Lord while, laughing and sometimes crying, “I still don’t understand you or your plan!.”

It’s so beautiful and so frustrating.

Something The Lord clearly shows and tells us in The Bible is to make disciples.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”    Matthew 28:19-20

I am so good at discipling people. I’m great when I get a hungry christian who just wants to learn.

When I first moved here The Father convicted my heart and said, “That’s awesome that you want to disciple christians, but what about the people who don’t know me? What about the people that want nothing to do with me? Are you still going to pursue them?”

yes I know what all of you are thinking..

YOU’RE A MISSIONARY YOU SHOULD BE DOING THAT!!

I know, I know. And when I’m in “missionary mode” I totally do it. But the thing is that I shouldn’t have a “missionary mode.” I should be taking the mission and calling God has given me everywhere I go. Once I felt that jab in the heart and repented; I then asked God to show me what I had been missing.

A few days after that Carmen, my roommate, and I were at Kroger shopping and that’s when we saw a little old lady in a wheelchair. She sparked up conversation with us and then we started talking about The Lord. After telling her about our trip and why we are here, tears welled up in her eyes and she said she could feel the presence of God. That’s when I heard the Lord speak, “This is what you’re missing my love! When you go out and don’t take what you have you miss THIS!!”

It’s been a couple of months since then and I have been so much more intentional. Because of that there has been so many cool things that have happened. Seriously…I could go on all day long y’all.

I’ll leave you with these questions: Are you taking mission wherever you go? Is there a person at Kroger or the gas station or even your workplace that needs what YOU have?
